OCP Maintenance Solutions and SYCHEM join forces to make Morocco's desalination plants more reliable and efficient
El Jadida, Morocco, September 2026 - OCP Maintenance Solutions, an expert in industrial maintenance and reliability, and SYCHEM, together with its Moroccan subsidiary SYCHEM Africa, a manufacturer of seawater desalination units, announce a strategic partnership dedicated to the operation, maintenance and optimisation of desalination plants.
The partnership lays the groundwork for a Moroccan centre of excellence dedicated to desalination facilities. It combines SYCHEM's international process expertise with the local maintenance and operational capabilities of OCP Maintenance Solutions. The partners aim to improve plant reliability, availability, efficiency and operating costs, while building local skills for Morocco's growing desalination market.
Under the partnership, each partner brings complementary strengths. SYCHEM contributes its plant operation know-how, international best practices and engineering support to improve plant efficiency and performance. OCP Maintenance Solutions brings its established industrial presence in Morocco, its skilled supervisors and technical teams, its asset management methodologies and its local execution capability. Together, they cover the full lifecycle of a desalination plant, from commissioning to day-to-day operation and maintenance.
Local talent sits at the core of the centre of excellence. Operation and maintenance teams will be recruited in Morocco wherever the required skills are available, while SYCHEM specialists support start-up, commissioning and training and transfer their know-how to local teams. The goal is to develop lasting local competencies and industrial know-how in a growing sector.
The two companies will also support each other's development. SYCHEM will introduce OCP Maintenance Solutions' condition monitoring and predictive maintenance solutions to its customers, while OCP Maintenance Solutions will promote SYCHEM's desalination and engineering expertise within its industrial network.
The partners will begin with a twelve-month first phase on desalination facilities in Morocco, focused on operational performance, maintenance effectiveness and cost competitiveness. Building on its results, they intend to extend their cooperation to further desalination projects in Morocco, Africa and international markets.
SYCHEM is a Greek manufacturer of seawater desalination units, recognised for its expertise in the design, engineering, operation support and optimisation of desalination plants and industrial water treatment solutions. It operates in Morocco through its subsidiary SYCHEM Africa, based in Casablanca.
OCP Maintenance Solutions is a Moroccan company based in Safi, specialising in industrial maintenance, reliability engineering, digital maintenance and Industry 4.0 technologies.
